JERRY DAMSON HONDA SUPPORTS 'SWIM FOR MELISSA'

July 23, 2011

(Huntsville, AL--) Jerry Damson Honda today donated $1000 to "Swim for Melissa."

Swim for Melissa is an annual event that will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2011  at the Hampton Cove Pool! It’s a non-competitive swim for kids 4 to 16 years old. During the event, each child will have the opportunity to swim as many laps as possible in a set amount of time. Registration is $20 per swimmer, and all participants will receive a free t-shirt, and additional prizes for money raised. At Swim for Melissa, the entire family is invited to enjoy a day full of family fun – face painting, moon bounce and lots of other children's activities, food, and more!

All money raised at this year’s event will be used to provide four Giraffe Incubators, a Giraffe Warmer, an ABR machine, and an infusion device, as well as funding for the Family Support Program for the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. The donations you collect will help us provide these items – and we’ve made it so easy! Just register online and create a page for yourself and your team. You can explain why you are swimming and even include a picture! Then, send the link to all of your family and friends and they can make their donation online.

Swim for Melissa is an outstanding event and Jerry Damson Honda is proud to support it!

Jerry Damson Honda supports Christmas Charities Year Round

(Huntsville, AL--)

As the temperatures continue to rise around Huntsville, Christmas may not be top of mind.   But for Christmas Charities Year Round - every day is one closer to Christmas, and Jerry Damson Honda is proud to be a supporter.

Christmas Charities Year Round is non- profit charitable organization serving Madison County, Alabama, that provides basic necessities, plus toys and food at Christmas, at no cost to its clients.

Christmas Charities was founded in 1949 to help local families after a boll weevil infestation devastated the area cotton crop. Our goal is to provide children in low income families with the items needed to improve their lives. These items include clothing, school supplies, toys and food at Christmas, and basic household necessities. By providing needy children and their families with these simple items we hope to improve the quality of their lives and encourage children to stay in school. Education is the key to helping these children break the cycle of poverty into which many of them are born.

Christmas Charities Year Round’s current goals are to provide clothing for qualified individuals, to give children toys at Christmas, furnish needy families with household goods and clothes, to recognize the elderly with a
Christmas gift and meal, and help residents in times of crisis. We have dedicated employees and board members who work tirelessly for the organization’s mission.
